Our Accommodation

Barclay House is set over two floors with three distinct accommodation suites. Barclay House has 29 beds in total, 6 of which are now approved by the CQC to be hospital beds for people who may be detained under the Mental Health Act.

 
 

Main Reception

The secure main entrance is located next to the front car park and leads through to the reception area.

The reception area boasts a large floor to ceiling window which runs across both floors, linking through to the established back garden. There is a family room just off the main entrance to allow families a comfortable and quiet space to enjoy more privacy during their visits and where children can safely attend.

Ground Floor

Summary: 11 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, 1 lounge/ diner and a smaller quiet space. Assisted Bathroom with bath lift. The Kitchen and appliances are fully wheelchair accessible.

First Floor Accommodation

Summary: 17 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms divided over 2 areas which include our registered hospital beds, offices and staff room. There is 1 studio flat as well as communal spaces including an assisted living kitchen / diner.

The hospital suite has it’s own lounge and dining room and benefits from a secure garden area which is accessible by an external staircase.

The Therapy Suite

This area is located at the edge of the building to ensure a quiet and therapeutic environment to enable Patients focus on their recovery without distraction.

The large gymnasium is filled with natural light as it opens onto a therapy court yard, allowing access from a separate entrance for Neuro-outpatient appointments. The equipment has been carefully selected to allow our highly specialised therapists to deliver the optimal treatment. This includes a BOBATH Plinth to enable correct facilitation of service users; a Tilt Table to aid standing and support postural adjustments alongside other exercise equipment such as the MOTOmed Cycle which enables the service users to experience supported exercise.

A separate therapy room is used by the Occupational therapist to conduct cognitive screening & Activity of Daily Living Assessments in a supportive environment. The room is multifunctional to accommodate the dynamic needs of each individual, whether it be participating in Upper limb Group or vocational and accountancy work on the PC.
